How the system is built

The floor starts with mechanical preparation. We diamond grind the slab to open the surface so the coating bonds into the concrete instead of sitting on top of it, then repair cracks, pits, and spalled areas with a patching compound. Next comes the pigmented base coat, and while it is still wet, we broadcast flake to refusal across the entire surface. Once it cures, the excess is scraped and vacuumed off and the floor gets one or two clear coats. That topcoat is what carries the wear.

Color blends and texture

Flake comes in blends from soft grays and tans to blues, blacks, and custom mixes, and chip size changes how busy the floor reads. Larger chips give a bolder look, smaller chips look closer to stone. The texture is adjustable too. More texture means better grip in a space that sees water or snowmelt, less texture means easier sweeping. We will talk through the tradeoff before we order material rather than after.

Why flake holds up here

Vehicles come into garages in this part of Washington carrying snow, road grit, and de-icer all winter, and hot tires can pull a cheap coating right off a slab.
